This HP - Agilent 8702B was converted from a HP - Agilent 8753C by Agilent Technologies, before I bought it from a government contracter. The unit is in good to great cosmetic condition. It may have a small scratch here or there. All buttons, knobs, and switches are good and intact. The serial # is 3214A02074. Will works with 120 & 240 voltage. We always re-check the item before we ship it. This makes sure the item is working when it left my shop. NO options are marked. WE WILL RE-CALIBRATED THE UNIT BEFORE SHIPPING AND A NIST TRACEABLE CALIBRATION CERTIFICATE, WILL BE PROVIDED AFTER ITEM IS RECEIVED AND IS ACCEPTED AS WORKING WITH IN SPECS. The HP 8702B Lightwave Component Analyzer (which is the same as a HP - Agilent 8753C Network analyzer) makes calibrated measurements of lasers or LED transmitters, photodiode receivers, optical fibers, and the electrical components they work with. The HP LCA operates with a swept modulation frequency to precisely characterize how these components operate on the highspeed, information-bearing signal. Information on how each component responds independent of the others provides insight into how systems can be predicted and improved. Measurements can be made of such components as connectors, splitters, couplers, and lenses, as well as fiber itself. This yields modulation bandwidth, insertion loss, length, and optical return loss. In the distance-time domain, reflections can be located without the dead zone typical of OTDR type measurements. Transmission measurements can also be displayed in the distance-time domain to view the impulse or step response of the component. Delay and dispersion are easily viewed in this manner. The HP Agilent 8702B 3 GHz Lightwave Component Analyzer (WHICH IS THE SAME AS A HP - AGILENT 8753C NETWORK ANALYZER) measures each of the transmission elements of a high-speed fiber optic system. This unit features calibrated frequency response measurements of fiber optic components, and has a measurement range of 300 kHz to 3 GHz. The frequency and wavelength are determined by an external source and receiver module. Transducers (lightwave source and receivers) allow it to operate at 850, 1300, and 1550nm. The time domain measurement capability is standard with this system.
