The S-3 uses a sensitive level sensing circuit to shunt the eluant to waste whenever the output from the system detector exceeds a user set level. After the detector signal returns to baseline, the uncontaminated solvent is returned to the solvent reservoir to be used again, recycling the solvent. The S-3 can handle up to a 50% overrange and continuously displays both its status and the signal level. A unique Q.A. validation signal continuously monitors the valve's position.
