This damper motor is used for moving the dampers on large HVAC ducts in buildings. They were removed during a remodeling project. They operate on the 24VAC from HVAC control systems. They have a high torque gear reduction and a spring return. So the control methodology is power on to turn shaft then power off to return. Internally it is a 24VDC motor with a diode to rectify the AC. Theoretically, the spring return and diode could be removed and the unit could operate like a DC gearmotor and be reversible.
