Hydrographics, also known as water transfer printing, is an innovative process that can apply special ink designs to 3D surfaces. This method uses over a thousand patterns, allowing the film pattern to reach into tight spaces that traditional printing process cannot. Hydrographics film originates from a polyvinyl alcohol film and has excellent adhesive and emulsifying properties. Best of all, PVA film is odorless and non-toxic. The ink is then printed onto the PVA film using rolling drums (Gravure Printing). Firearms manufacturers use the same process for applying camouflage graphics to rifles, pistols, and shotguns as well as bow manufacturers using it to apply camouflage designs to their bows.
