The Hygro Temp-Meter Model 3095 HYGRODYNAMICS 3095 HANDHELD INDICATOR 1995 MODEL INTRODUCTION The Hygro Temp-Meter Model 3095 is a handheld humidity and temperature indicator designed for checking environmental conditions. This product features auto shut-off, large LCD readout, a low battery indicator, and a jack for 9VDC power supply operation. SPECIFICATIONS MEASUREMENT RANGE Humidity 5 - 95% RH Temperature 0 - 150EF ACCURACY Humidity +3% RH Temperature +1.5EF SENSOR CABLE 6 Foot Coil Cord TYPICAL BATTERY LIFE 50 hours AUTO SHUT-OFF PERIOD 10 Minutes 9VDC JACK TYPE (Negative Inside, Positive Outside) 100mA Maximum 2.1mm Plug Size OPERATION Be sure a 9V Battery is installed or that a suitable 9VDC power supply is connected to the jack. 1) Turn the display on by pressing the ON key. 2) If the LOBAT indicator appears, change the battery. A low battery may cause inaccurate readings. 3) Select relative humidity or temperature by pressing the appropriate key. The letter "H" will appear when humidity is displayed and a "F" will appear when temperature is displayed. 4) Press the OFF key when not taking readings. Note that the display will automatically shut-off after approximately 10 minutes of operation to conserve battery power. Restore operation by pressing the ON key. After exposing the sensor to a new condition that constitutes a large humidity or temperature change, give the sensor several minutes to stabilize. The display can be off while the sensor adjusts to a new environment. MAINTENANCE Battery Because of the superior life of alkaline batteries, it is more practical and economical to use them instead of dry cell batteries. Replace the battery when LOBAT indicator appears. If it is anticipated that the indicator will not be used for an extended period of time, the battery should be removed. Sensor The sensor should provide years of accurate service if these conditions are avoided: Condensation - Repeated wetting of the sensor can cause a shift in accuracy. The teflon wrap provides some protection but condensation should be avoided. Chemical Vapors - Polar compounds, such as alcohol, react with the sensor to cause temporary high readings. Chemicals such as mercury vapor, unstable hydrocarbons, halon gases, sulfur, and acids can damage the sensor. Particulates - Dust or soot do not directly effect the accuracy of the sensor, but because it is hygroscopic it can dampen the response of the elements. Electronic Calibration The circuitry inside the indicator is designed around precision voltage references and highly accurate 0.1% tolerance resistors. No periodic adjustments are required to maintain the product's accuracy. Comes complete with vinyl, zippered case.
