Here is another IBM Correcting Selectric III Completely reconditioned, commercial-grade with optional lighted margins and "bicycle - cassette ribbon that IBM introduced late in the series and adds even more class to this machine. The ribbon requires no threading and snaps in with one lever. Also, the parts were undisturbed nor misaligned all these years. IBM serviced this one and no third party misadjustments. Please see my "other items" for a description of the actual overhauling process that I personally performed on this flagship model Selectric. These pictures are of a unit that has sold, I will post pictures soon but it is identical in every way, color, size and options. Both were in the same office... The cases have new plastic foil liner to absorb sound from the mechanical machine versus the old style foam which decays after time. New synthetic lubricant is used throughout for no issue years later where petroleum based can and does sludge up and eventually stop these excellent all mechanical typewriters. Furthermore as a rebuilder and repair (er) of these, (for too long)I know what to do to keep them perfect. I hated recalls and still do. I have banded the main hub with stainless steel to prevent future cracking and separation exactly how IBM did on their higher end Mag Card series. My mainline business is servicing high end copiers during the day and typewriters, my career specialty, when off-peak... This one is a winner, I only bother with superb examples. The fallout rate is very high, maybe one sweet one to maybe four or five, not so great units. I only sell perfect machines, there are hundreds or more of in between, problematic, Selectrics available in extremely well used condition. One year warranty on everything. It will type for years...
