Shipping & Handling in U.S.A. = $ 2.00 ************************************************************* ----> READ BELOW FOR IMPORTANT INFORMATION <---- ************************************************************* FYI - ALL IBM TYPE BALL's  ( Type Element ) ( Type Font ) Are NOT Created equal ! Over the years IBM has changed its manufacturing process on the Selectric ball many times. Originally Ball's had 2 protruding steel paper clip looking wires you had to press together to get ball on & off. You do see these around & most actually still work even though they are at least 50 years old ! 2nd style was a pivot mechanism that was designed with metal & plastic. ( see photo A ) These did not last long & most ALL are broken at the pivot. ( only applies to Selectric 1 & 2's, The selectric 3 lll's were all produced with the good all plastic pivot hinge )  3rd style was an all plastic pivot that has proven itself to be very durable. This is the only style you should buy if you're looking to actually use the ball on a typewriter. ALL the balls are a plastic compound with a Chrome/metallic coating. Depending on when/where/how they were manufactured some times the chrome plate will peel & chip off causing imperfections in print quality. Inspecting for this chipping is VERY important. ( See Photo C ) Finally, Off Brand, After market (GP) & no name balls are Inferior by nature & were never produced with the Close tolerances that IBM OEM have. You can tell an IBM by looking at the pivot lever & if it does not say "IBM" right on that pivot arm it's NOT an IBM. (See photo H)   Photo's of Broken Type Balls ! ( A -----> I ) A : Metal Pivot arm, can look good, but this one is BROKEN as are most when you see small chrome metal at the pivot. NEVER BUY B : Separation of Cap, Terminal condition, cannot get ball on or off when broke, hard to see in photo's, but not uncommon. C : Chipping / Peeling Chrome metal plating. Most noticeable with up close inspection & Visible poor print quality of letters effected, Avoid purchasing these. D : Tooth Broken on bottom, Ball won't align & will cause partial print of some characters. Never Buy, No fixing these. E : Inner Ring chipped will cause miss print at random, can only tell from a misprinting ball & close inspection with light. F : Inner wall worn, this will cause poor correction & misprints. again close inspection with a light you can see this. G : Got no Original Type Ball Holder   H : Brand Name Missing from pivot arm. Just a BAD start, Plenty of IBM OEM ball's to choose from out there in the real world. I : 9 type ball's in Photo, Looks like it could be a good deal, these are going cheap...... WRONG ! These are ALL BAD, none of these will work right if you can even get them on the typewriter, Beware, photo's can be deceiving
