Here is an absolute gem of an IBM Correcting Selectric! This one is a rare find. When it was shown to the employees at IBM, back in 1979 as a concept, we could not figure out how IBM was able to pack a full correcting Selectric into such a small size! The fact that they made this machine in 1982 and sold out of them within weeks, impressed us once again. They are unique and rare. They named it right, it is a personal sized machine. I have sold very few in over 40 years of repairing them. Super small 11" carriage, this will fit on a bedroom dresser or small stand. Classy. I have completely overhauled this machine per my "seller's other items". This is not simply a warmed over oiled and tested and cleaned, this is completely chemically cleaned, re lubricated and I have basically remanufactured every aspect of this machine and it is as new. Inside, where only techs can see, is the real value of my work. This is a museum grade restoration. These machines are an absolute joy to use. Perfect for writers and authors. Past clients include some famous ones. I also have a copied owner's manual and extra correction tapes which are of course, included, along with extra elements and a spare ribbon and cardshield. You'll be ready to write. The action of these little hot rods is incredible. They are used in many places where one single hard copy of intellectual property is deemed secure at day's end. (So I'm told) The list of attributes is amazing but this Personal Typewriter is a big deal to some very impressive clients out there! I agree. I'm not a writer or typist, I just make sure the keyboard is properly oiled and greased along with a myriad of minutia. The timing, new clutches, lubricant types and placement are critical to a sweet keyboard action on these machines. The color is 'Ivory Bisque' with an 'Espresso' base pan. Pictures lack the look of this machine. Lower-priced, less rare Selectrics will soon be available as I complete the many orders I have received from other offerings.
