   A local company is in the process of consolidating its machine shop facility and will be disposing of any surplus tools. As the equipment is released for disposition I will list the items and describe them as accurately as I can. Sale is final so please feel free to ask any questions that you might have. Thank You.    Offered here is an Index #645 Vertical Milling Machine, serial number 12554. It is equipped with a 1 H.P. Spindle Motor which is connected for 220 volts - 3 phase. The spindle nose is a standard R-8, and the table measures 9" x 47". The dirt and grime needs to be cleaned but the table looks to be in good condition, as do the saddle ways. There is power down feed to the quill and a 1 shot lubrication pump. I put power to the head and ran it in the speed at which it is presently set. The spindle works in forward and reverse and it turns smoothly. The power feed works but I had to hold it engaged. I am sure the mechanism needs to be cleaned and lubricated.      This machine is typical of one that has been painted a few times and has been in storage for a while. It needs a thorough cleaning and lubrication to make sure all of the movements are free. I believe that this will make a nice mill for someone capable of doing the necessary maintenance. The mill has been moved from its original location is is in storage in Southampton, PA 18966. It can be loaded on a truck or trailer. If someone has the time, patience, and capability to perform the necessary repairs then this should turn out to be a nice milling machine.
