Inphi 4311DZ 43 Gbps Optical Modulator Driver The 4311DZ is a high-speed optical modulator driver capable of driving differential (dual drive) Mach-Zehnder modulators with Pi-voltage (Vp) from 4 to 8 volts. The device's superior edge rates, excellent eye quality, and low jitter make the 4311DZ ideal for applications such as high-bit-rate NRZ transmission systems. The 4311DZ generates high-quality NRZ data streams to 43 Gbps, with typical rise and fall times of 8 ps. The 4311DZ provides output amplitude and eye-cross adjust control pins to help simplify the customer's transmitter design. The driver exhibits a large output amplitude swing and extremely fast rise and fall times. It operates from +8 V and -5.2 V power supplies and is available in a metal package with V connectors. Specifications: Supports data rates up to 43 Gbps Output modulation 4.0-8.0 Vp-p differential CML input 800-1600 mV p-p differential Fast rise and fall times: 8 ps (20-80%) Output amplitude control Adjustable eye crossing Low power dissipation: 3.5 W max Low deterministic jitter: 2 ps p-p Low random jitter: 0.5 ps p-p +8 V / -5.2 V power supplies
