IVAC Core Check Thermometer & Base Model 2090 This electronic thermometer has two parts, the thermometer handset and a base with a hygenic cover dispenser built into it. The thermometer has two finger trigger buttons on the front and an LCD on the back, and is powered by a 9V battery (not included). The base has a compartment that holds square cardboard/plastic covers, with a dispenser that allows them to be put on the thermometer quickly and without having to touch them. A battery was inserted but the unit could not be turned on. This could be due to a built-in theft prevention mechanism; some of these thermometers came to us with stickers on them warning that the "thermometer will not work if taken from building." These units normally have a magnetic switch in the handle, that is reset when brought near a magnet (usually in the storage container). The unit then works for a number of measurements before it needs to be reset again. Auction Sales Policy We are a consignment seller and all items on auction are consignment items.
