CONDITION.   Excellent. Chuck has been disassembled, cleaned, and inspected. Jaws have been lapped on a diamond plate to ensure they are straight, flat, and parallel. Chuck has been tested for accuracy with a 3/8" diameter test bar by measuring the TIR at two points:  [1] at the tip of the jaws and [2]  3-1/2" out from the tip of the jaws.  Jacobs' standard for their new ball bearing chucks is TIR not greater than .003". On my gaging setup, this chuck is now more precise than Jacobs’ accuracy standard for their new chucks.   Sliding surfaces were lubed with Superlube, teflon-impregnated grease;  ball bearings were lubed with Mobil 1 synthetic gear oil  [75~90 weight].
