This is the artist and printer John DePol's personal copy of Richard-Gabriel Rummonds paperback book "Printing on the Iron Handpress".  John DePol signed it twice inside the front cover, one is dated 1998 and both refer to his photograph on page 220 of the book as shown in the above photographs.   The book is 470 pages and measures 11 by 8 inches.  It was printed in 1998 jointly by Oak Knoll Press and the British Library.  Richard-Gabriel Rummonds is recognized as an expert on the iron handpress and this book is an important book to have in your letterpress printing library. John DePol (1913 to 2004) was a master of wood engraving and is the subject of the book "Five Decades of the Burin: The Wood Engravings of John DePol" 2004 by David Godine.  I had the opportunity to meet him at an American Printing History Association (APHA) convention in Delaware shortly before he passed away.
