The instrument maps and tests for opens and shorts on cables up to 4,000 feet and DC cable resistance up to 100 ohms. The built-in tone generator enables cable tracing (probe not included). Live voltage detection protects the meter from damage. An auto power-off feature turns the instrument off 12 seconds after pass/fail results are obtained or after 30 minutes when the instrument is in toner mode.
