K2 CNC Machine Frame PC Router, Drivers, PSU, Stepper Motors & B.O.B. I purchased this super nice machine frame, motors, drivers, breakout board, power supply, router, and software packages for a great simple stable PC in a killer enclosure – just under 4 years ago for work here at Fretsong Guitars. The system has never been put into service – ALL the hardware is brand spankin’ new. The machine frame has picked up a little dust being stored in the shop – but this is a NEW system. Not the tiny plaque making stuff you see all the time – This machine frame has a 14” X 25” X 7” (!!!) axis travel, this can be used for guitars, and other larger items – NOT another toy machine like so many you see out there. This is really the only way to get into this size without stepping into the next level starting at 7K and up. Even K2 doesn't build this useful intermediate size anymore - you can set this up in a small garage shop without dedicating an entire room to it. The machine frame itself goes for over $3000. The PC was loaded with software, then stored – Just checked all software and checked the system out – this system doesn’t need to get on the net for anything, all software to run the CNC is installed and registered, including Machine3, Rhinoceros 4 and Lazy CAM (even has D-2 for those boring down times)… You can go for the new PC, and another break-out board if you choose – but this covers the need by itself. Also – it is an open architecture case – 3-unit cases fit anything without any risers or other proprietary hardware – it even locks. PDF files with the proper color coded wiring diagrams are included – and all you need is some multi-strand wire and proper logic to put this unit into service. My guitar business kept me too busy to focus on this system. And a heart attack 3 years ago added more limits. While I refined my standard approach to building instruments - I simply haven't been able to put this beauty into service. Also – with an impending move, I need to consider other options. It provides terminals for the connections and conditions the signals for use in CNC applications. • Buffered inputs and outputs. Outputs are buffered through integrated circuits, allowing the card to output the signals without using the power from the parallel port. It can take the +3.3 or +5vdc at less than 1 milliamp from the parallel port and deliver solid +5vdc at 24 milliamps. • IEEE 1284 Standard compatible. Includes the circuitry recommended by the IEEE 1284 Level 1 standards for bidirectional parallel communications between personal computers and peripherals. • Has the option of using pins (2-9) for input or output. By selecting the appropriate jumper setting you can use these pins for input or output. If you use a second parallel port and set it to work in a bidirectional way, you get a total of 34 I/O pins. • Output pins 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,14,16,17. Or 1, 14,16,17. • Input pins 10,11,12,13,15. Or 2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12,13,15. • Input and output pins with close by ground or +5vdc connections. • The common terminal to pins 2-9 can be ground or +5vdc. The board has a jumper that allows you to select if the common terminal to pins 2-9 will carry a ground or +5vdc. So if you are connecting encoders or proximity switches, you can select it to ground. If you are connecting Geckodrives or limit switches, you can set it to be +5vdc. • External Enable Pin (EN). The board has a pin that allows you to enable/disable all the outputs at once. The board requires +5vdc in the EN pin. If it is not present, it will send all the outputs to ground. You can use this to enable or disable the system manually, or you can install an external Safety Charge Pump or other external device. • All TTL +5VDC or +3.3VDC Signals.
