After crushing, materials are collected in a five-gallon bucket sealed chamber, providing a low-dust environment. Upgrade options are easy, and it's possible to increase volume with larger hammer mills. The machine can crush black sand concentrates to release micron gold particles for further processing. The hopper gravity-feeds material into a tube where centrifugal force hurls it into a hardened steel impact wall at 400 miles per hour. The rock instantly shatters, making it ideal for quartz, schist, limestone, and other types of rocks. While the crusher is designed primarily as a pilot mill and not a production machine, it can still handle rocks up to one inch. The unit can even handle uncrushable particles without damage. An engine with 5 horsepower is strong enough to produce up to two tons of grind in an hour, making it suitable for crushing needs.
