2 yard auction: KEVLAR FABRIC - Item: K29-745-50 *** 2 Yards*** This is 50" wide Kevlar® 29 Style 745 Bullet Resistant Fabric. Two yards is 72" inches long and the width of the fabirc is 50" wide. 2 yards will be 50" wide x 2 yards long, and will be sent to you in one "uncut" length and not cut into individual 1 yard x 50" pieces. The Picture shown is K29 Style 745 with a 44Mag bullet in the center, ***multiple layers of the fabric were used to stop the bullet*** We do not know how many yards you will need or how many layers it will take for your project. For liability reason we do not recommend how many layers it will take to stop a 44 mag. This picture had at least 12 layers and that is not a suggestion on how many layers you would need. Personal protection vests have "more then 12 layers" which are needed for use when up against the human body. Please test your design which is highly recommended. This Kevlar is made from DuPont(TM) Aramid Yarn and woven into a fabric on weaving looms. It is used primarily in the Safety & Personal Protection Markets. It can be found and used in a number of personal protection applications including but not limited to: Bullet Resistant Vests, Car Armor, Cockpit Door Armor, Bullet Resistant Panels, Bomb Blankets, Fragmentation protection and many non-ballistic Industrial uses. Kevlar can be sewn into multiple plies and is not needle resistant, it can be glued using a polyurethane based glue, it can also be used with Epoxy resins and vacuum bagged in laminating applications. ***. IMPORTANT NOTE: It takes multiple plies / Layers of this fabric to make something bullet resistant. CERTIFICATION: This picture has multiple layers of Kevlar 29 Style 745 so testing of your design or application is highly recommended. If you desire to have your end product certified for ballistic protection you can contact US Test Labs, or HP White Laboratory. If you desire to have ballistic certification, Kevlar fabric by itself in a single ply is not rated for any ballistic protection level, it is what you design and make that will get the certification rating. In other words, you have to make something with this fabric such as a Vest, or Kevlar Panel or in this case "your application" and then have it tested at a Ballistic Test Lab to get ballistic certification. NOTE: Ballistic certification for personal use is not required, so your own testing is all you need to make sure your product will meet your desired protection level.
