About the Kidde SL177i Dual Mode Strobe Light for the Hearing Impaired The Kidde SL177i hardwired interconnectable dual strobe light is an advanced solution for communicating alarms for the hearing impaired. By incorporating the strobe into any circuit containing Kidde alarms, you can amplify the warning of any single alarm by utilizing the strobersquo;s effect. The Kidde SL177i can support up to 24 other Kidde devices in a circuit at any time. Easily installed and highly compatible, the Kidde SL177i functions with Kidde CO alarms, heat detectors and smoke alarms. When a heat detector or smoke alarm is triggered, the Kidde SL177i will provide a bright, steady flash to warn about a dangerous situation. In the event a CO alarm is set off, there will be an intermittent flashing warning. The Kidde SL177i comes UL approved and backed by a fiveyear manufacturerrsquo;s warranty. This device is meant to be used in conjunction with other Kidde alarm systems, not as a standalone unit. Kidde 120VAC Dual Mode Strobe Light is for the Hearing Impaired. The Kidde SL177i is a 120VAC wire-in unit that provides a visual warning when part of an interconnected system. Kidde smoke alarms, heat alarms and carbon monoxide alarms (a maximum of 24 devices of which 18 can by initiating) can directly interconnected with the Kidde SL177i unit. When triggered by a smoke alarm or heat alarm, it will produce a steady flash warning. When triggered by a carbon monoxide alarm it will produce an intermittent flash warning. This item is UL Listed. ATTENTION! The model SL177 and SL177I strobe lights are designed to notify hearing impaired individuals of impending danger, they have no detection means and MUST be used in conjunction with operating smoke, heat, or carbon monoxide Alarms.
