Item Summary for KIM MIRCROSYSTEMS Class II B2 Fume/Bio Safety Hood Biosafety Cabinet FEATURES This unit is Purchased in 2011. It is used for approximately 2 hours. Due to some reason the laboratory was closed in the same year. Therefore the unit is almost new. BUT IT NEEDS CALIBRATION. The Unit is in really good condition and it is working. Please refer to the pictures • Biological Safety Cabinets in the Class II Type B2 are designed to provide clean work environment and protection to operators who work with biological hazards. • High Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) filters are effective for trapping particulates and infectious agents, it is suitable for the containment of bio hazardous material thereby providing sterile environment for cell culture. Class II cabinet is most versatile and economical model. • Contaminated air from the external environment is “totally exhausted,” eliminating the risk of sample or user exposure to harmful chemicals. • Auto compensation allows the safe use of optional inflow air prefilters. • Timed UV light option reduces risk of sample contamination and lowers bulb replacement costs. • Type B2 cabinets are suitable for work with toxic chemicals employed as an adjunct to microbiological processes under all circumstances since no re-circulation occurs. In theory, Type B2 cabinets may be considered to be the safest of all Class II biological safety cabinets since the total exhaust feature acts as a fail-safe in the event that the downflow and / or exhaust HEPA filtration systems cease to function normally. CONDITION This Biosafety Cabinet is almost New and Unused. The Lab has kept the unit in really good condition. Please see the photos for further details. Year of Purchase: August 2011. Purchased the new machine from Kim Microsystems All the documents of the unit are available. We recommend to calibrate this unit. This machine is currently not in use.
