Before the 1980s, 23K gold was necessary for hot stamping onto leather, as any cheaper material would turn green. However, our regular gold foils available on eBay work just as well on leather. But at The Bible House Inc., where we sell fine leather Bibles, we still use 23K gold to add a touch of elegance. Our 23K gold, salvaged from estate and garage sales, was produced by Kingsley and is now available in convenient small rolls on 1/2 inch cardboard cores. This offer price is even lower than Kingsley's price for the same amount back when gold cost $35 per ounce. Kingsley produced 23K gold foil in two finishes - shiny and satin - and both are available upon request, in rolls that can be ordered in any quantity. Kingsley also produced 23K gold foil in three different widths, but the most common width is 2 1/4 inches, rolled on a 1/2 inch core. This auction is for a roll of 72 square inches, sold at a lower rate compared to other hot stamp suppliers. The roll comes in a small, protective zip bag, allowing for easy access to cut pieces as needed and prolonging the life of the roll. Although it is possible to use the foil in an auto feeder, it is not ideal for hot stamping with 23K gold.
