Klein "Chicago" Grip for Large-Diameter Conductors, 1628-40B, 1.300", 25,000#. Klein "Chicago" grips are widely used in the power, communications, and general construction fields to pull wire and cable, and to maintain temporary tension until the cable can be permanently terminated. These grips are to be used for pulling up lines to tension only and are not to be used as anchors. They have locking loop handles which allow the jaws to be held in an open position for easier placement on wire or cable. This saves substantial time, makes grip positioning easier than with wedge or bolt-on designs. To lock, open jaws and fold loop handle toward the side plates. Forged Steel, Custom Finished for 1.300" (All "Chicago" 1628 grips are custom finished to cable specifications)  Jaw Length: 10-3/4'' Maximum Safe Load 25,000 lbs. Approx. Weight: 34 lbs. Designed for hollow conductors and other large-diameter cables. Round jaws are shaped to provide maximum contact with the cable, virtually eliminating conductor damage. Maximum safe stringing tension 12,500 lbs to minimize conductor damage. Had tabs welded on, neatly removed. Guide pin that keeps jaws parallel is broken, so jaws don't automatically stay parallel. This defect makes it a little harder to mount it on a cable in awkward positions, but does not interfere in any way with the operation, gripping power, or strength. Packed carefully for economical shipping, with lots of fitted dunnage to be sure the box arrives intact. 40#, lg flat rate box, $125 buy it now This item comes from a well maintained shop.
