Klein Tools No.1604-20 Cable Puller    Designed for use when light, compact grip is desired and where conductor damage is not a factor.     Has a swing latch to help hold cable in the jaw.     Approx. Weight Each: 4 lbs. (1.8 kg)         While not stamped on the tool itself, my research strongly suggests this is in the 1600 Series, most likely the 1604-20.  I think this particular tool comes from the 60's or 70's, but I'm not certain of that.  It's clear this tool has had a strong American journey from Lake Superior to Lake Ontario (I acquired it in Rochester, NY in the late 1990's.)          Go for a real piece of American Gold,    straight outta Chicago.          Klein Tools was founded in 1857 in Chicago, Illinois by German immigrant Mathias Klein.          The Klein brand is the #1 preferred hand tool in the electrical industry, as well as one of the leading brands used in the maintenance, construction, and industrial trades.      Loyalty to Klein Tools is strong due to Klein Tools' commitment to professional tradesmen; professionals feel the difference every day.
This tool is in good working order. The knurling on the jaw has plenty of good meat. At one time there was orange paint on this tool, now faded for the most part. I can't tell if this was original factory paint or some toolshop 'enhancement' later on. This excellent tool has a glorious industrial patina all over it and will still do the job it was designed to do as well as the day it was made.
