Platen Attachment for 2x72” or 2x48" Belt Sander/Grinder. First Grade Quality Product This new Fourth Generation Design offers an improved, deep access to work on both sides of belt if this is required. Desired grinding angle can also be easily adjusted with this platen. Additionally it  could be fitted to some industrial belt sanders. Over and above it is an excellent part for any Homemade Belt Sander Project. It is a removable belt sander attachment designed for flat grinding. Mostly used for 2” wide belts of any length. Heavy duty Platen made from 3/8" thick steel is 12-1/2" high and 6" wide. The weight helps building a mass therefore improves stability of the machine during sanding. Precision machined, aluminum, flat turned wheels are 2” outside diameter and 2-1/4"wide. Ball bearings have 1/2” bore. Removable Platen Plate size is 9" x 2" and 3/8" thick. It can be replaced with the plate of your choice (for example ceramic) For a slack belt grinding you need to remove Platen Plate. Colors may be different as well as design of backing plate brackets. Almost all mounting bolts are stainless steel. It can be angle-ADJUSTED, accessible from both sides of platen and has hollow space at the back of belt. The last feature is very useful for grinding inside narrow spaces.
