PLEASE READ BEFORE PURCHASING..2 Kold Draft Ice Machines with Bin for sale... Over 11K Invested.. I am going to accurately describe the condition and status of the warranty to the bidder/buyer. PLEASE READ BEFORE YOU PURCHASE MY KOLD DRAFT ICE MACHINES.. I will sell the ICE BIN Separately for 500.00 OBO.. 1000 lb. per machine. Both of these Ice Machines and the Stainless Steel Bin was purchased Brand New here on EBAY from the people that sell the majority of Kold Draft Ice Machines and Bins here on Ebay.. They were shipped via Freight to me here in Florida and I encountered many problems right after they were put into service.. I had no recourse or SERVICE from who I purchased them from here on EBAY by buying here online so I was forced to go to the manufacturer for the 5 year Warranty that was part of the purchase.. I knew a locally owned Appliance Repair Company that would work on these Ice Machines. The manufacturer paid our local Refrigeration man $ 100.00 an hour and replaced both Computer boards TWICE. The main guy that's over the WARRANTY at Kold Draft said that they had a defect in the water Pumps so then the water pumps went out or FAILED completely (ALL FOUR OF THEM were replaced), then the Computer boards went out again. They have so many Micro Switches in them, they would fail, but good luck figuring out which switch failed and it would cause the springs to wrap up and everything inside would bind up and the machines would quit all the time. The manufacturer would authorize the repairman back out again and again and again...We were Broke Down nearly every other weekend and EVERY HOLIDAY for about 2 Years...When we needed these Ice Machines to work it seemed like it always took many calls to get in touch with the manufacturer as at that time it seemed to me that they only had 1 guy that answered the phone for all the repairs for Kold draft. The repairman would show up, but couldn't even get in touch on the phone with the manufacturers service Rep as he was so busy with other people and their Kold draft machines so he usually drove off in frustration for not being able to get support or technical advise only to return the following week. The whole time I was totally out of business producing Ice for sale. My Refrigeration company told me he had never worked on any Ice machines like he did with these machines and all their troubles over and over again. He told me that he was amazed at all the breakdowns and what appeared to be design flaws like the water pump issues etc. They have a test tube inside each machine with Probes inside the tube and they failed and were replaced by different probes at least 3 times that I can remember. The MANUFACTURER knew that I was having so many problems with Both machines that they even felt sorry for us and offered to extended the warranty by an extra year for a TOTAL OF 6 years.. They kept breaking down over and over month after month. KOLD DRAFT even sent us a STACKING KIT FOR FREE, so if one machine broke down, it would leave one to work so we could have ICE for sale...Most of the time both would be broke down or out of service totally.The one chrome or Stainless plated Ice Cube Plate out of the 4 corroded so bad, the manufacturer replaced it when it was less than 6 months old and the other 3 were corroding fairly bad but still usable and he ultimately refused to repair or replace them. He stated the one didn't get coated right at the factory. Then the many.. many... many.... MICRO SWITCHES inside the machines would fail, and the phone calls and service calls would start all over again.. It was basically a part changing experience and endless service calls to see what would fix the problems but in the end my Refrigeration man quit working on them as it was becoming basically a WEEKLY event to come to our business to repair one or the other or BOTH of the machines for nearly TWO YEARS.. My repairman told me that the company was slow to pay him on the very first repair.. He told me it took over 1 1/2 months for him to get his labor money reimbursement or get paid, so then the repairman refused to wait on Kold Draft and the repairman made me pay 100 an hour instead of getting paid by Kold Draft and then I depended on the manufacturer to repay me which took a month or months at times and phone calls to get reimbursed and I didn't even get paid for the last service call when they cancelled my warranty.. These units are completely sealed so no moisture or the weather doesn't get inside these.. The heat that they produce doesn't allow any condensation or moisture to form inside the sealed compartments In the end, the warranty man in charge at Kold Draft kept calling or emailing us trying to bring up Water quality issues, the frequency that we were cleaning the filters or cleaning the machines with Ice Machine cleaner and then Finally he started questioning us where they were located and airflow etc.. I have the emails saved for the buyer if needed....I figured or believed at this time that they were attempting to find a way to get out of honoring the warranty after all the questioning and problems and Money that they were paying out for repeated repairs and repeated problems and parts that I was told that had design flaws.. My repairman got so disgusted working on them, so then I had to get someone out of town to work on them..Then I was told that I had to pay 1/2 of the travel expenses ( 100.00 an hour just to drive to work on the machines).. No one had parts for these locally, (You are on your OWN) or buy them here on EBay if available.. Every repair part had to be sent from Erie Pa.. to my location in Florida.....At first they would overnight the parts due to all the breakdowns to get us going but then after so much expense and service calls they went to sending the parts UPS or Fed Ex ground and it took up to 4-6 days to arrive and then I had to get back in line with my repairman so we were broke down 2 or 3 weeks at a time over and over again without ICE.... Finally Kold Draft called me and said that since my machines were only surrounded by 3 walls and a roof, that they would never warranty the machines ever again.. They couldn't find cause that our City water was bad, and we we were using a great filtration system so we had no water problems, We cleaned them with Nickel safe cleaner when they did work correctly, so they couldn't prove that we weren't cleaning them, so they found some legal terminology in their warranty where they can cancel your warranty at THIER WILL if you don't have them inside a enclosed building.. The manufacturer had me move the one machine out from under a very safe and secure roof system that kept the machine totally out of the sun, wind, moisture or condensation etc. and insisted that I stack them.. Like I said, they even provided the FREE STACKING KIT to me so I would have some redundancy but in the end they canceled the warranty.. These machines are sold as is.. They both need Micro Switch and they both have probe problems and I will accept any reasonable offer as we were forced to purchase new Ice Equipment. I have since purchased a New Hoshazaki Ice Machine, put it in the same location and have never had any issues.. Additionally we purchased a New Arctic Temp Ice maker and installed it within 5 feet of where the Kold Draft machines were located TOTALLY out in the open air with no roof or no walls and it performs Flawlessly.. If you purchase these KOLD DRAFT machines, please know that they are in need of repair and parts and it's your responsibility to get them repaired. There is no warranty as they cancelled it due to a clause in the warranty fine print... Buyer Beware.. SHIPPING::: LOCAL PICK UP ONLY... Steinhatchee Florida. There is NO WARRANTY.. It was cancelled by the manufacturer after they extended the warranty due to all the repair issues. The person I bought this from just sells them, when you have a problem, it's up to the buyer to find service. They were located in Texas and we are located in Florida ( a long way to drive to do a Ice Machine repair)..especially every week or so. SOLD AS IS.. NO WARRANTY. PRICE: BEST OFFER 11K invested.
