Kyocera Iridium Satellite Phone Marine \ Vehicle \ Indoor Kit This item is used.  It is in working order but requires some installation and extra parts to customise it to your vessel as per the below. This kit allows you to maintain telephone communication anywhere in the world pole to pole.   The Kit Includes - Kyocera SS-66K Satellite Phone Handset Kyocera Maritime Phone System unit Handset (You can also connect your own preferred telephone handset or cordless phone, external ringer or other standard analogue accessory) You will require -  Antenna  An Iridium branded sim card from an Iridium provider Some wires as per the pictures have had the ends cut off and will need you to be able to fit new ends your self or connect the wires directly to your vessel. This includes the DC power cable and the telephone handset connector wire.  The telephone handset screen has a contrast problem where the screen is darker than it should be as per the picture, however it is still readable.  This does not effect the use of the system at all as the phone is concealed inside the box and you can't see the screen when it is in use anyway.  This phone requires an Iridium branded sim card from an Iridium provider.   We have several Iridium sim card options available in our ebay store.  ABOUT THE IRIDIUM AND OTHER SATELLITE SYSTEMS This phone uses the Iridium Satellite phone system.  It is the only system that will work pole to pole any where in the world on land, sea or air.   Be careful of non-iridium systems - They also do not necessarily work all day and every where in the world as satellites pass over.  Sometimes you need satellite time maps to see what time the satellite is where and where to point your phone.  None of this is a problem with Iridium. Iridium phones are much simpler and more reliable.  They will work anywhere any time as long as there is line of site to the sky.  EG you cant be inside, under lots of trees or in a city amongst tall buildings that will block the signal.  They may also have trouble working in gullies or valleys where mountain or hills may obscure the line of site to the sky.  If you're buying a satellite phone for emergency purposes and need it to work where ever you are, when ever you want, Iridium is the way to go.  HOW TO SUBSCRIBE \ CONNECT Connecting is easy.  You can connect with any Iridium provider.  I have prepaid sim plans available to send you with your phone.  See the satellite phone sim card category in my store.  There are also post paid accounts available.
