Starrett Co. 12" No. 97 Improved Level for Testing Shafting, Etc. The main vial is housed in an outer tube with a friction-fit closing cover to prevent breakage. The base features a concaved groove running the length, with a flat margin on each side, which improves its seat for flat work, while forming an absolutely true and reliable seat for shafting etc. The level is adjustable. It has a plain main vial, plumb level set in the center and a cross level, to test the truth of shafting and other surfaces which tend to throw the level base into a canting position. Shown in Starrett Catalog No. 26, copyright 1938. The level is used and in very good condition with only light loss of paint. All level vials are filled with fluid and free of cracks. The base measures approx. 12 1/8" long x 1 3/8" wide, the main level is approx. 6 1/2" long. The original box is in very good condition and is included. View My Feedback and buy with confidence!
