Labconco - The Purifier® HEPA filtered enclosure This enclosure has been procured from working service but has not been tested in our facility. The Purifier® HEPA filtered enclosure provides protection to the user and the loboratory environment but does not provide protection to the work area from contaminants in the room air. Applications include weighing powders, handling pollen or other allergens, carbon grinding and reagent preparation. While in operation, air enters the front of the enclosure through the sash opening with a factory set average inflow velocity of 80-feet per minute. The air in the work area is then drawn up through the HEPA filter in the upper cabinet before exiting the enclosure through an opening in the top. The cabinet frame, top, back, airfoil and interior upper panel are constructed of epoxy-coated steel and aluminum. The sides of the enclosure are 3/16" thick tempered safety glass panels. Two utility ports allow passage of tubing and electrical cords into the enclosure. The clear 1/4" safety glass sash is angled for less glare and more comfortable viewing of the work area. The two light filter condition indicator monitors differential pressure across the HEPA filter and indicates when replacement is necessary. The internal blower is sized for low power consumption. A solid state control sets the blower speed to maintain closure with minimum turbulence. The work area is well illuminated with glare-free fluorescent lighting. The HEPA filter 99.99% efficient in removing particles of 0.3µm in size. Blower and light switches are front-mounted within easy reach of operator. The unit does contain a used Hepa filter and may need to be changed before use. Unit is available at Smithon Inc. in Surrey, BC, Canada. Shipping to be arranged with seller.
