Matchlessantiques is offering collectors this Large Vintage 295 lb. Blacksmith Swage Block. This swage block is a heavy duty block with a nice big combination of round and square holes. It's all broken in with some"soft" holes that are great for shaping work pieces. The outer edges are great for dishing and the smaller holes work well for upsetting. It has a nice big 90 degree outer swage great for squaring your corners. There are no chipped corners or cracks, only normal use marks that include some nicks and bumps. This is a NO RESERVE auction. Please take a close look at the pictures. Swage blocks can be used for a variety of jobs. They are great for punching, upsetting and bending. Holes with worn edges and depressions can be used for dishing. Large holes are useful for turning edges on pipe or tubing. The swages on the outside edges can be used with matching top swages for forging a number of shapes and sizes. Or hot metal can be hammered in the swage cavity forming it into the shape of the swage.
