USED laser diode kit  with fiber optics cable already connected and ready for installation in a Kodak/Creo ThermoFlex Platesetter (Mid or Narrow). The diode power is rated at 1000mW (1W), emitting IR energy at 838nM wavelength.  . Updated information: Output power: 1 Watt Center wavelength: 830nm +/- 15nm Threshold current: 0.3A (nominal) Operating current: 2.0A (max) Fiber core diameter: 60 um Fiber cladding diameter: 125 um Fiber sheath diameter: 900 um Fiber NA: 0.22 This is more than enough laser power for setting paper on fire, woodburning, etc. It is also more than enough for permanently blinding you - so use only with knowledge of laser safety. Most of all, USE PROPER LASER PROTECTION EYEWEAR! The seller or eBay will not be held responsible for any damages to body or property caused by the use of this item. The diode is tested and works great. ESD precautions were strictly followed when handling this diode. You should use a "clean" power source to power this diode - voltages spikes would damage it. Two "D" size batteries with a current limiting resistor would do fine. I have written an instruction sheet to help people safely operate this diode. It is not meant to be a complete guide to using laser diodes, but it should help you get started. Here is the link to the Instruction Sheet.
