LEICA MODEL FRIGOCUT 2800E MOTORIZED CRYOSTAT - FULLY RECONDITIONED. This cryostat is in superb condition. Our Biomedical Engineering Department opened it up, cleaned it, lubricated it, reassembled it, tested and calibrated it. It now meets all the performance criteria specified by its manufacturer. We tested all the relays and the refrigerant pressures. We cleaned with detergent foam the condenser and the evaporator. It was confirmed that the belt that runs the microtome is not worn or frayed. Our engineers confirmed that the safety stop switch works correctly. All the control panel keys were activated to make sure they all work properly. The external advance/retraction feature of the specimen holder was tested and it operates as per design. The whole microtome was pulled from the chamber, disassembled, cleaned lubricated and then tested and calibrated. It now cuts beautiful ribbons. Our Biomedical Engineering Department did a thorough job on this cryostat and it now cools down quickly and quietly. We had it working down to minus 34 degrees C in our warehouse in Miami (see images). The specimen holder's temperature can be regulated. The microtome operates smoothly at low temperature and the glass window warms up and stays condensation free. Three specimen holders are included. This cryostat is ready to be put to good use in your lab.
