This is a letterpress cylinder die cut jacket apparently for a 23" (58.4 cm) x 35" (88.9 cm) cylinder press made by Bar -Plate, a company that makes after market die cut jackets. It has a virtually untouched canvas tie down. What press it was made for is unknown, but I have used jackets exactly like this for Heidelberg cylinder presses. . It has been sitting in an ex-wife's garage after the husband's business was disbanded and she has lost track of her husbands ex-employees, so there is no way to find out exactly what type of press it was for.. Apparently, it was only used for two jobs before the business closed. There are a few small die cut circles on the otherwise pristine surface. There is also the ghost image of a kiss cutting job that has not made any permanent marks. Otherwise, the jacket is in brand new condition. The cylinder that it was designed for is about 14" in diameter. My estimation that the sheet size of the press is just that: an estimate. The jacket actual goes for 25", but I haven't heard of a 25" x 35" press. The gripper edge has ten 1/4" diameter holes drilled in it. The end ones are 1 1/4" (31mm) from each end and then about 3 5/8" (weak). If you want to see any other view, let me know and I will endeavor to post it asap. I usually ship USPS for light cartons, but I look at other ways to get the lowest cost. Shipping weight will be about 14 pounds in it's original shipping carton. . Unfortunately, 2012 postal regulations forbid insurance on certain types of postal shipping services to various countries. Also, unfortunately, I now usually only find out whether an item can be insured when I go to make out the shipping label. If insurance is incredibly important to you, email me before bidding and I will try to see if the least expensive shipping service can be insured. An example of the international differences is that at this time, Canada apparently forbids insurance on all postal service levels except Express Mail Parcels. In contrast, I have been able to insure First Class Parcels to both Argentina and Switzerland. I do not personally insure anything. UNINSURED SHIPMENTS ARE SENT AT YOUR OWN RISK.
