Letterpress Assorted Steel Furniture Up for bidding is a nice collection of steel furniture in the following sizes (in PICA): - 80 x 10 - 75 x 10 - 45 x 8 - 50 x 3 - 55 x 10 - 45 x 8 - 30 x 10 - 5 x 15 - 8 x 8 - 20 x 3 - 6 x 5 (two pieces) - 8 x 6 (two pieces) - 20 x 6 (two pieces) Please note that this auction DOES NOT include the metal galley you see the furniture pictured on. See photos for further details. Just like wood furniture, metal furniture is used to lockup the characters for press. It is used for spacing out large areas in type compositions where leads and slugs would be impracticable. Metal furniture, however, will not shrink or swell and is not affected by humidity or temperature changes.* Be sure to see our other auctions.
