Letterpress Printer Wood Block with Copper Plate (D7 61) E. Perry no. 1612 Acropolis Athens 1926; Perry pictures Boston Edition; paper print has some tears, tape residue and folds;  copper plate has some spots; wood block has some discoloring - block is made of two pieces of wood that are notched together; embossed on the edge of the wood plate is "Bartlett-Orr Press"; the copper plate is the reverse of the black and white photo; includes the brown paper that print block was wrapped in when purchased at auction in South Shore of Boston   "Perry Pictures Company was located in Malden, Massachusetts, a suburb of Boston. It produced rotogravure? pictures on good quality stock paper useful for children illustrating school projects and reports in art, history, geography etc. It was founded in 1897 and lasted probably to the mid-fifties.
