Beautiful and complete vintage Lietz model no. 115 simple transit.  Comes complete with locking wooden carry case, threaded base plate for transport, heavy brass plumb bob, view extender (I assume to block sunlight), mini magnifying glass, spare needle, and rare matching tripod which includes thread cap for transit. Both transit and tripod are labeled BRANDIS & SONS, INC.  EST. 1872. 84 COOPER ST.  BROOKLYN 7, N.Y.  Rare in itself!  Here are some of the simple transit specifics…Horizontal circle 4-5/16" dia., graduation 30 minutes, Vernier reading 1 minute, vertical circle 3–1/2" dia., graduation 30 minutes, Vernier 1 minute, telescope magnification 17 X, objective aperture 15/16", minimum focus 3 3/4 ft, sensitivity of bubble 60 seconds 2M/M, sensitivity of plate bubble 137 seconds 2M/M.  Stadia hairs ratio=1:100. Constant equals 0.39 feet.  The wooden case is locking, however there is no key. Also the leather strap has broken. The lens on this is crystal clear and will zoom in precisely! I personally set it up on the tripod and was able to focus on a tree 200 yards away!  Just an overall very nice collectible unit. I will ship for free within the United States using UPS. Insurance and tracking will also be free.  My work schedule only permits me to ship on Fridays when using UPS.  In addition, because of this being two pieces, I will most likely ship in two separate boxes.  I believe I have described this to the best of my ability.
