This listing is for a marking/striking knife made out of Lignum Vitae. Available in a variety of other woods.  I now put a piece of beach glass from Lake Erie in the ends of all my knives and other handled tools.  I think it adds a nice touch from the area, and it looks pretty cool in the right light.  I usually use green, but if you would like a specific color, let me know...I have tons of the stuff.  Shown in the last photo. Lignum Vitae is one of the densest woods on the planet, it sinks in saltwater. It also happens to be virtually maintenance free and nearly impervious to the elements. Its industrial uses are vast (hydroelectric dams, submarines, railroads)  Marking knives are meant to be used in place of a pencil to mark layout lines in a very precise manner. Lines made with a knife are easy to see at all angles and help ensure accurate layouts and results.   -Measures just over 8" in overall length. -The handle is ~6" long and just under 1" in diameter at its widest point.  -Blade is 0.8mm thick and made of HSS with bevels on one side of the blade. It is epoxied in place and wrapped with a brass collar.   -The blade will register completely flat against an edge for marking out clean, accurate lines. -Beeswax and Danish oil finish. Not that this wood needs it. -Branded with the constellation 'Leo' Everything I sell is made in my shop, by me, by hand.  Because of this, there might be small variations between what you see pictured and what you receive.  Some things may vary from piece to piece like exact grain of the wood used, or exact sizes on certain items like kazoos.   Lifetime Guarantee, if it breaks from normal use and not abuse, send it back and I will repair or replace it.
