Buy it now Sump Strainer for Listeroid 12/2 Diesel Engines w/3" Stainless steel nipple 100 mesh Threaded end aluminum 5 GPM rated 3" S.S. nipple included The original sump strainer that comes with Indian Listeroid diesel engines is worthless, it could barely keeps aligators out. This strainer is 100 mesh and will prevent any big particles from being pumped through the oiling system. This is especially beneficial for the center crankshaft bearing shell that is feed whatever the oil pump delivers. A 3"x1/2" stainless steel nipple is included. Installation is a little tricky as this filter is to large to fit through the sump hole in the block. To install this filter assemble the filter and nipple together. Then nearly remove (or completely remove if you have two people) the tee that passes through the block. Insert the new filter and nipple into the hole and begin tightening. Then it is a process of tightening one then the other. This process is required because the new filter barely fits in the sump. Once it is installed, it cannot come loose. To remove the filter, the tee must also be removed. I used a plumber's basin wrench to do the final tightening from the inside. 1/2" NPT threads are a tiny bit smaller than the Indian Listeroid threads so the nipple screws into the tee slightly easier than normal. I used thread sealer, not sure that it was necessary. Again, once assembled there is not room in the sump for this filter to fall out. Worst case it could come lose, then the filter would ground into the edge of the sump preventing further loosening. I have a completely independent filtering system so I'm not concerned about clogging this filter. You may want to attach a 1/2" ball valve to the other end of your tee so that you can spray a little cleaner inside the strainer when you change the oil. I have a Jkson 12/2 so I can't vouch for how this sump strainer may or may not fit in different Listeroids. If it doesn't fit, return it for a refund less shipping (30 days max.)
