This is a terrific cardiac scope, with double walled tubing and soft ear tips.  Included is an extra set of soft tips, an extra set of hard tips and the pediatric adapter.  It's 27" in length from top of bend in the ear piece to the head, which is, of course, both rotatable (for the pediatric side, though it can be used as a bell) and removable.  Since this is a model III, you can hear soft or loud sounds simply by applying pressure to the head, so good for lungs, heart, abdomen, stents, arteries and such without having to make adjustments.  An excellent scope for nurses and physicians alike.  If you are used to a single walled inexpensive scope, you are in for a delightful surprise.  Since this stethoscope is often sold over the counter, it is not in violation of eBay medical equipment policies.  There is no box and no instructions, but if you need instructions you're in the wrong place.   All questions cheerfully answered.  Michael Zwerdling, RN, CHPN (former CEN) P.O. Box 1377 Palm Harbor, FL 34682 On Dec-26-14 at 15:04:34 PST, seller added the following information:Thought I should add this to avoid confusion.:   The small side of the head *is* the pediatric side. The adapter--which is just a diaphragm and rim which fits the small side-- is so you can can convert it to a diaphragm instead of the open bell.  Frankly I've never found it to be necessary.  You can't really use this scope for neonates, though, or  small infants, because either side of the head is just too large to hone in on a specific area.  General heart and lung sounds, sure, easy to auscultate, but trying to differentiate specific heart valve sounds, for example the tricuspid from the mitral, is relatively difficult in tiny patients since the scope will physically cover more than one area.   It can be done, but it takes a good ear and lots of practice.
