"Litz wire is a special type of wire used in electronics. The wire is designed to reduce the skin effect and proximity effect losses in conductors. It consists of many thin wires, individually coated with an insulating film and twisted or woven together, following a carefully prescribed pattern often involving several levels (groups of twisted wires are twisted together, etc.). Up for sale is 100 FEET Litz wire of 250 strands of #46 copper wire.  The price is for 100' of the wire. It is wrapped with natural silk for insulation, which is not poly or nylon.  The wire is on a plastic spool. The wire is perfectly easy to solder and you do not need to clean it.  The colour is indicated in the photo. This Litz wire  complies with RoHS standard. You would know what it is for if you want to buy it. We are not very technical men, and we might not go very deep into the technology, but questions and inquiries are welcome.
