1664UC2E.58New Dormeyer Products (Division of Saia Burgess), 18 Volt DC Solenoid Actuators, Manufacturer Part Number 198539-001, Customer Part Number 4550-0001-01. Each bid quantity is for a Lot of Four (4) Solenoids. You may bid / buy any number of lots, up to the total quantity available above. This batch of solenoids was purchased at an industrial liquidation last year. They are brand new in the original factory cases, and each unit is boxed individually. The coils are fully encapsulated in polymer, rather than being tape-wrapped like cheaper varieties. They are probably waterproof, although you might need to do some testing before outfitting your scuba gear with them. These ought to be good for something, and we have almost a "production" quantity available. We don't know for certain the application for which these were originally intended, but they may possibly be for a HP LaserJet 4500 printer. We had a batch of similar solenoids a few years ago that a customer purchased for making tattoo machines. Might work well for robotics, electric locks, automated packaging equipment, etc. With a 12V to 18V adapter, they would have many automotive uses. Likewise, a pair of 9V batteries would also power them. Just snap the positive terminal of one battery into the negative terminal of the other, and viola, the remaining two terminals will instantly give you 18VDC. They will also operate with lower DC voltages, although the pulling force is diminished, and I don't know how the reduced voltage would affect the coil life. Stroke: These pull the pin inside the coil when voltage is applied. The depth of the solenoid coil is .943," however, I'm not sure exactly how solenoid strokes are measured. They have some pull even before the pin enters the coil, although not as great as when the end of the pin is fully inside.
