Simply use the included tool to remove the front cover and set the magnet in the center area, repalce the cover, and stick the device onto the side of shipping container.  If the vertical impact is greater than 15g's then the maget will slide off the center portion and you will see the red dot.   VV - Vertical mount, vertical configuration. For mounting on a vertical surface, such as the side of a box. Configured to react to a vertical impact at the activation value stamped on the device.
