This DIXON 1/2" Female NPSM Swivel x 1/2" Hose Barb Ball Seat -1240808K is made of Brass and has a Female Thread Size of 1/2". When using this hose fitting, it is essential to use either hose clamps or crimped ferrules. This hose fitting works well with all SAE dimensioned low pressure reinforced rubber and elastomeric general service air and water hoses, low pressure hydraulic and contractor water hoses. However, it is not recommended for water due to fiber gasket - for air service only. Its unit weight is 12.7 lbs. The material used for this hose fitting is alloy 360 for straight fittings, alloy 377 for forged shapes, alloy CA2745 or C46400 for Lead Free Brass (parts ending in LF), alloy C3604 for extruded shapes, type 303, 304 and 316 for Stainless Steel, and optional electroless nickel for Plating.
