This auction is for a 13 plus pound lot of left over cut off pieces of crystal clear acrylic scrap. These are left over cut offs that came from (undisclosed location) that could be used for modeling or making something like for instance maybe a lamp or a trophy base. Or even a mini acrylic stonehenge. This is a very machinable material and can be worked with woodworking or metal working equipment. I load acrylic parts all day into CNC machining centers where parts are drilled, tapped, reamed and milled after being sawed and before being buffed to a high, crystal clear finish which is achieved with a white buffing compound on a muslin wheel. If you machine metal and have ever wondered what it looks like when a tool is cutting from inside the part this would be one way to see the process as it happens. This material is hard and pretty tough. It can break, but not like glass. I would recommend using coolant when machining to prevent melting of the surface being machined, although it is sawed into pieces without coolant, the finish is rough and white, as can be seen in the photos. Thickness ranges from one inch, one and three-eighths inches and about one and one-quarter inches, but most in this lot are about one inch thick. There are several sizes / shapes, including two "arrows" - four pieces that when paired will make two "ace of spades" shapes. I am offering this lot of approximately fourteen pounds of acrylic scrap with no reserve, buyer pays shipping for a medium flat rate box.
