This auction is a lot that includes ONE (1) Hamamatsu R1548 PMT, and a block of FOUR (4) BGO Crystals. This is a "Dual Cathode" Photo-Multiplier Tube unit (PMT for short) made by Hamamatsu in Japan, part # R1548-01.  It functions electrically as two separate PMT's in the single glass tube, and comes comes with a removable 17 pin High Voltage divider socket assembly, Hamamatsu part # E2037-01.   The size of each half of the PMT face is 12mm x 24mm, so the overall face size 24mm x 24mm and the overall length including the socket is about 10cm.  The relatively small size makes the PMT a good candidate for constructing probes.  I can provide socket wiring diagram and PMT specs upon request. Also included with this auction is a block of 4 BGO crystals that are already glued together and ready to be attached to the PMT face.  The crystals are in excellent condition, the face is clean and polished, the other sides are partially covered with the original in paint.  It's actually best to cover the non-face sides in a bright white paint to help reflect the light to the PMT. By orienting 4 crystals together with the polished ends towards the PMT provides the largest BGO cross section in the radiation beam, this transfers the most light into the PMT and yields the highest sensitivity.  The crystal block is 30mm long and the combined face size face is 12mm x 24mm, exactly the same size as one of the dual PMT faces.  All pictures are representative only, the actual items shipped will have minor cosmetic differences.  See my other listings for more information about these PMT's and BGO's.  Thank you for looking!
