Hello, and many Thanks to all the users that helped us make it to our 15th year anniversary here on ebaY !! You are bidding on 1- Antique Lundy Rochester Model Anesthesia Machine. Made by Heidbrink, Ohio. Sold untested for obvious reasons. Probably from around the 1940's or 1950's. No shipping. Some of the plastic handles on the valves are partially broken. It looks complete, but have no idea. The model id tag also reads "Kinet-O-Meter. The base is cast iron with casters. This was used in a Veterinary operating room. It is possible to ship this, but will be expensive. Please contact me with a zip code and type of location (residential or commercial), and I will get you a quote. The only information for this medical device I could locate online is quoted as follows: "Introduced in 1924, the Lundy Rochester Anesthesia Machine allowed for ethylene, nitrous oxide, carbon dioxide, oxygen and ether to be administered to the patient via separate controls on a single apparatus. Dr. John S. Lundy (1894-1973) worked with dentist, inventor, and manufacturer Jay A. Heidbrink (1875-1957) to develop this machine. It is more elaborate than the first four-gas machine, Foregger’s Seattle Model, which was designed a year earlier upon Lundy’s recommendations. Lundy was an extremely productive anesthesiologist with numerous accomplishments to his name. Collaborating with others, Dr. Lundy developed and improved a variety of anesthetic devices, including needles and syringes for regional anesthesia and an early ventilator. He established the first anatomy lab at the Mayo Clinic and the first blood bank in the United States. Lundy developed the concept of 'balanced anesthesia,' and played a large role in the development of intravenous anesthesia." Measures approx. 30"W x 16"D x 36"H.
