Steam Engine Model This is a well made model engine that needs just a little work. I disassembled the engine to get a good idea of the condition. The model is basically complete but needs a couple little things to run, the main thing is the valving groves on the rotary valve that rides on the crankshaft need to be cut. It looks like the valve channels were cut wrong then brazed back up and turned back down to size but not re-cut. The steam line where it screws into the head is stripped, when I got it the fitting was cemented in place, it sounds crude but looked like it worked and wasn't noticeable, personally I would be tempted to repair it the same way. Otherwise this engine is well built and really pretty nice. This engine is out of an estate and it looks like the builder just never got to do the last final little adjustments to finish it. I have too many other projects so I'm going to pass this one on to someone else to enjoy tinkering with. Fun little completion project. Stands 6 inches tall 6 inches long with 4 1/2 inch flywheel.
