Machinist precision LEVEL GERMAN graduated  main level cross level case fitted vintage   You are bidding on a “vintage”  machinist precision level from Germany ,  probably from about the 1970’s-1980’s.  This was made in east Germany during the cold war  by the MEB Massfabrik (MEB Measurements Factory)    It also has the number “1” and the label “Netzschkau” and the accuracy is 0.02 millimeter/meter.   If my math is correct, this would be about  0.006”/ft. , but I can’t guarantee this calculation.  You can try it yourself.  In any event it is very accurate and  seems to have a slotted calibrating screw on the left side.    It has a graduated main and cross levels., is a little less tdhan 8” long and has the number  79/204 inscribed.  It is in general in very good condition, does have a little surface rust/staining on  the bottom of the left side, from the felt pad  on which it rests, but this does not affect its accuracy ( which appears to be able to be calibrated anyway).   I lived in West Berlin from 1972-1996, personally chiseled the wall pieces I’m selling on Ebay and also collected vintage East German memorabilia and tools, much of it bought at East German Secret Service  (STASI) auctions and sales locations set up after the wall came down  and the people took over the facilities.  I have been listing these items and just have a few more.  A few of the pieces are really unusual and rare!   Thanks for looking, check my other auctions  and good luck in bidding!
