The MachTach is a machine tachometer kit which is used to display the RPM and SFM of any machine tool. This kit requires DIY soldering and assembly. The MachTach can be added to lathes, mills, drill presses, sanders, conveyor belts, or any machine where you want to know it's speed in revolutions per minute, surface feet per minute, or meters per minute. It requires a reflective sensor, cable and reflective patches which are included. The MachTach can also be used with optional slotted and code wheel setups, Hall Effect sensor and magnets, and Gear Tooth sensors. Installation of the IR sensor with the reflective sensor is easy. Just mount the pickup on an L bracket and mount it where it can view anywhere from 1 to 90 reflective patches, which are included, on any shaft, pulley, or other rotating part. MachTach assembly is easy for anyone that has soldered before. The MachTach can be assembled as a full size board or the compact half size module. The price for either kit is the same. MachTach operates in either Imperial (SAE) or Metric modes which allows it to display surface feet per minute or surface meters per minute.
