Magna ShopSmith Bandsaw Reproduction Owner's Manual from 1956 Scanned, cleaned up and printed       The band saw manual is a rather small publication but is packed full of information that you are going to want know and need to know. This ShopSmith accessory is probably the most wanted and most used of any add on unit. If you have a bandsaw but do not own the manual, you could be stumbling in the dark. Why not spend a few bucks and see the light?      About five years ago I purchased a 1955 green Magna ShopSmith woodworking machine with many extras. I am the third owner. The original buyer was a meticulous guy who saved any and all SS paperwork and kept it in good condition. Among the stack of printed pieces was the original band saw manual for both ShopSmith Mark V and Model 10ER machines. This booklet was printed in 1956. I have scanned the publication and assembled the pages into a PDF file for 21st century users.      These scans are NOT the typical low quality images that are so prevalent on the internet. I am a long-time Adobe Certified Instructor so I know my way around Photoshop, InDesign and Acrobat Distiller, the three programs that I used to put together this manual. All of the pages are straight, full size, well exposed, in focus, have the half the half-tone screen removed and are easy to read. The resolution is fairly high - 300 pixels per inch. That means that you can zoom in to 400% without experiencing loss in sharpness. However, if you go to 800% some pixelization is apparent and at 1600% it is very prevalent.      If I place the original side by side with this reproduced manual, the reproduction manual is superior in every way: Whites are white not yellow Blacks are black not gray Pictures are sharp and crisp not fuzzy Text is very easy to read There are no “spilled liquid” marks The three ring binder holes have been removed It lays open flat rather than curved Multi ring PVC plastic binding vs. two rusted staples      If you owned both the original manual and one of these reproduction manuals, you would most likely use the reproduction piece … it is just better.      This is one of the least expensive items that you can buy for your vintage woodworking machine and yet one of the most used. Buy one now and begin using and enjoying your machine more.   One payment of $8.50 buys the complete 15 page bound and covered manual Flat rate shipping in the US is $2.50
