It is beautifully made from turned wood. The wood is oak and has fabulous graining in rich mid brown tones. The stand has a lovely large flat top and this combined with it's height would make it perfect to take a hat with a large brim. The stand is sturdy and is a very handsome piece. It would make a wonderful addition to a period display and would be perfect for a vintage hat shop or to display a favourite chapeau. It measures :- 44 cm (17.25 inches) high 14.5 cm (5.75 inches) across the bottom 11.5 cm (4.5 inches) across the top. Another superb antique French find from La Belle Etoffe!
