Beware of using fuses that are not exactly rated as the print heads are very sensitive to voltages - you may fry an expensive print head or even a head board (major cost). Don't chance it by using an incorrectly specified one in your printer. Do you have a problem where 2 colors are completely not printing? There is a good chance that the fuse has been tripped and will need replacement. This can be cause by a number of sources - some of which could be attributed to: static surge bad print head cable (scuffed, bent, misaligned etc) removing a print head while the power cord is connected (even though the power is off) malfunctioning print head and a whole host of other factors. Replacing a surface mount fuse is NOT trivial soldering work. Although you can use a regular fine-point soldering iron, it is highly recommended that you use a SMT resoldering station to remove the bad one and a regulated soldering iron to reattach the new fuse. If you have too high of a heat for too long, you may trip the new fuse which means you'll need to get another one. We do recommend extras (even though the high cost of fuses, it costs more to wait for a new fuse to be sent out). If you do not feel comfortable in replacing it yourself, we do perform this repair in our premises (lab room). Please inquire about our services.
